Ether : (Inhalational anaesthetic)

- Pungent.
- Highly inflammable (therefore No Cautery ) (also No cautery in Cyclopropane)
- Decomposed in light (so stored in amber coloured bottle)
- Complete Anaesthetic
- Does not depress Myocardium.
- Does not depress Respiration.
- Potent Bronchodialator.
- Preserves ciliary activity
- Increases secretions
- High nausea and vomiting.
- Cross placenta barriers (Thiopentone also crosses) - causes hyperglycemia.
