Complications of IUGR :

• Chromosomal Abnormalities (21 , 13 , 18 )

• TORCH infections

• Perinatal depression - Birth asphyxia --> Meconium aspiration syndrome

• MC immediate cause of death in IUGR - Pulmonary Haemorrhage 

• Persistent pulmonary Hypertension of mewborn (Persistent Ductus Arteriosus ) (more in preterm)

• Hypothermia , Hypoglycemia , Hypocalcemia

• Acute tubular necrosis

• Polycythemia (But in preterm - Anaemia)

• Thrombocytopenia , Neutropenia
